Schools Football Week Festival Fun at Abbey College

The Hunts School Sports Partnership organised a Year 3/4 Football Festival on Tuesday 6th February to help Huntingdonshire Primary Schools celebrate Schools Football Week.

Schools’ Football Week is an ongoing English Schools Football Association (ESFA) initiative designed as an opportunity for schools, teams and clubs from across the country to embrace schools’ football and the wellbeing benefits it provides to pupils and players. It celebrates the importance of schools’ football, competitive or otherwise, to pupils across England and provides teachers and coaches with tools and a motivation to further discuss the benefits of schools’ football within their educational environment.

The afternoon event welcomed 16 teams and 138 Year 3/4 children from 9 Huntingdonshire Primary Schools.

The festival format provided the opportunity for each team to play six friendly matches with a focus on examples key School Games and FA values rather than goals scored and the result of each match.

Thank you to everyone that attended and congratulations to our individual value award winners.
