Disney & Superheroes Inspired Girls Football Festival

On Tuesday 16th April, the Hunts School Sports Partnership welcomed 150 girls in Year 1 and Year 2 from 12 Huntingdonshire Primary Schools to Hinchingbrooke School to participate in a girls football festival inspired by Disney and Superheroes.

The event used the inspiring FA Shooting Stars programme which is linked to Disney classics such as Toy Story, The Incredibles, Frozen and Aladdin to name a few, to provide the children with a positive first experience of football outside of school.

The event also worked with two cohorts of Game On Girls Football Activators from Hinchingbrooke School. The 20 activators brought each rotation to life through story telling and activities link to the movies.

Doug Finlayson, Hunts SSP Manager said, “It was fantastic to host our first ever girls football festival for Year 1 and Year 2 girls. It has been an event we have wanted to introduce to our events calendar and I could not be happier with how it went. The children and sports leaders were encouraged to dress up in their favourite Disney princess or heroes outfit, which only added to the excitement throughout the event”.
