St Neots Tennis Club was a hive of activity on Tuesday, 21st May, as it hosted the vibrant Hunts School Sports Partnership’s Year 3/4 Tennis Festival. With 13 teams and over 120 children participating, the event was a resounding success.
One of the highlights of the day was how the afternoon festival managed to dodge the incoming rain by a matter of minutes. Thanks to Nick Peck and St Neots Tennis Club whose careful planning and time preparing the Year 9 Sports Leaders from Longsands Academy, meant the both the morning and afternoon sessions proceeded without a hitch. The weather held up, allowing the children to enjoy the activities under favourable conditions.
The event was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of community and participation. The atmosphere was friendly and inclusive, with children cheering for each other and making new friends. The festival provided an excellent opportunity for young players to experience the joy of tennis in a supportive environment.
Doug Finlayson, HSSP Partnership Manager said, “We look forward to hosting more such events in the future, fostering a love for tennis among the younger generation. The success of the Year 3/4 Tennis Festival is a testament to St Neots Tennis Club’s commitment to promoting tennis in the community.”
